A Day at the Carnival (with
radiant_bloom)
Though it's not quite dark out yet, the sun still on the horizon casting everything in an orange-pink glow, there are bright lights turned on all around the carnival in preparation for the night. It's a beautiful sight, and everything looks fun and exciting. He's glad to have Kairi here with him to enjoy it, though it would have been a lot of fun doing the different competition games with Riku there too. Since he'd left for a few days (without a word, and only a note, presumably so his two friends wouldn't follow along -- which is fair enough, they totally would have if they'd known where he was going) to run an errand or do some sort of favor for King Mickey. He'd promised it wasn't dangerous. Sora's not sure he totally believes that, but Riku's pretty good at taking care of himself, so he's not really worried.
For now, Sora and Kairi will just have to serve as metaphorical taste-testers for all the rides and attractions, and then when Riku comes back they'll know exactly what to drag him to. And maybe Sora can win a big prize or two for Kairi tonight that they can show off in front of Riku when he gets back.
He turns to look at his friend, grinning. "What do you wanna do first?"

Please excuse the icons, her paid ran out, lol
When Sora grinned at her, she took his arm and grinned right back. "So long as it is fun, anything!" she told him cheerfully, with pure unfettered delight. She was getting to spend the day at the carnival with one of her two best friends. No danger, no battles, no forces of darkness pulling them apart. There wasn't a thing here he could choose to do that wouldn't be fun.
No worries!
He points to funhouse, something that likely incorporates a hall of mirrors but includes other fun obstacles as well. It vaguely reminds him of Wonderland, actually. "How about this?" He grins. "Says "fun" right on it!"

Teasing came pretty naturally for best friends. A day when Kairi or Riku weren't teasing him about something was a day to be concerned.

"Okay!" she said, as if they had come to a conclusion together. "It's decided, that's what we'll do. Funhouse first, then a giant roller coaster. That is, if you think you can keep from crashing it..."
Had Goofy told her stories about Sora and Donald crashing the gummyship? The world may never know.

"I think I'll save the crashing for the bumper cars. We should get some practice on those so we can double-team Riku," he suggests, leading the way to the funhouse. He's got all the tickets they need, and hands the appropriate amount over to the attendant.
The entrance itself already proves to be a fun little obstacle, as the stairs leading inside shift and move continuously, apparently motorized. He glances back at Kairi as he climbs up, just to make sure she doesn't trip or anything.

She peers into the house as Sora hands over the tickets a bit. This would almost seem like a date. If it wasn't her and Sora. She wondered how many people watching them would think it was a date. The idea amused her. She wondered if she should share it to Sora, or just see if she could spot anyone watching them, then play it up and leave him to catch on and play along.
She let go when he started trying the stairs, so she didn't wreck his balance. She took a grip of rail to either side as she moved, and grinned when he glanced back. "Not all of us wear shoes larger than the steps," she teased. She would never be as strong as her friends, or as good with her keyblade or magic. But agility and adaptability? She was good at that. She knew how to jump and land neatly without hurting herself, she could move well, and being smaller, she could usually fit in places they couldn't. And here? Her feet rested neatly at the center of each step. There were some benefits to being the runt of the island.

The buzz of excitement, the air of adventure and wonder, and the warmth of affection radiating off so many people in the park was practically infectious. It meant a near constant grin on Sora's face, eyes bright with the feeling and heart thumping in his chest.
The teasing gets a laugh. "You saying I should be doing this barefoot?" He asks, jokingly, over his shoulder as he finishes the climb up. Because joking or not, he'll do it, Kairi, don't think he won't. Even if it's an absolutely terrible idea.

"Of course, if you took them off, you'd have to carry them, and then you'd be unable to hold the rails, and you'd fall, and then I'd have a story to tell Riku when we see him...." She couldn't resist yanking his tail a bit. He was so much fun to tease.

"How mean, Kairi." It's said without any heat or accusation, as he turns sideways to shuffle across a narrow beam above a small ball pit. Some people have already fallen in there, and it's not more than waist deep. "Maybe I should leave you in that pit and go do all the fun stuff on my own."
Hardly a real threat. None of it would really be fun all by himself. He'd spend the entire time wishing she or Riku was there to enjoy it with him.
