[ It was a slow day for a Saturday. The weather was dreary, rain splattering against the windows and puddles filling the street with thunder pounding lightly in the distance. A beautiful day to Henry, but not much of one that invited people to come buy pets in the humble little shop he worked in.

So rather than close up early he has just propped his college textbook up onto the desk as he strokes along the back of a parakeet's wings, reading so intently that it actually takes him a second to realize that the bell that rang wasn't actually a bird chirping... so his eyes snap towards a teenager coming inside without an umbrella. Probably to escape the rain, or maybe to pick up something. Cat food, maybe? He looks like a cat person if Henry's ever seen one. ]

He'd only come in to buy some treats for John but he'd spotted the pen filled with small, squirming, furry bodies and been utterly lost. He has a couple rolling about in his lap now, chewing on his fingers and barking excitedly and he hasn't looked away since the attendant said he could play with them. It's entirely possible he wouldn't notice a bomb going off right beside him at this point.

Hopefully he's not in the way because he doesn't look about to move anytime soon.]
